Lori Schmit and later Lutz born and raised in Dayton and a bit in St Marys Oh. My parents gave me the greatest gift of life and heritage in my Catholic faith.Wher would I be without it. My grandparents were Devout and instrumental in my life. So much so that one set raised me on and off for 12 yrs
.
Steve and I just celebrated our 35 wedding anniversary this past Easter. In the last 10 yrs we have gotten to travel to Rome, Jerusalem and France. I also walked the Camino to the tomb of St James 500 miles in 36 days with a good friend.
We have been blessed with 4 children,2 girls and 2 boys
Our girls ,southern belles adopted while we lived in Franklin Tn . Our boys are from Romania adopted at 3 1/2 and 22 mos. During this time my work and joy was at home . Mary Alice our oldest was a founding student in the first class at Mother Teresa School in Liberty twp. Steve and I sat on the board and helped in its founding. I also was an American Heritage Girl leader for 8 or so years. I love the outdoors. Since our boys were very delayed coming from a Romanian orphanage I dipped my toes in the world of homeschooling . And eventually graduated the youngest from high school. I also sat on the vocations committee at St Max our parish for 28 yrs. Over those years so many wonderful priests blessed us , and fed us .They came to our side in good times , hard times and even in sickness. In thanksgiving a friend I started to cook meals for our priests once a week. Those little chefs still cook.
During Covid a nice young Catholic couple offered to buy our home. It wasn’t for sale. I love that the Good Lord is always looking out for us. We packed up ,got an apartment and Steve got 2 hr back in his day . He now walks 4 blocks to work in downtown Cincinnati. I enjoy walking to church the library and the new adventure of city living. I even walk to the cathedral for Serra meetings . I’ve been apart of Serra for 6 or so yrs? I can’t remember how long. Another sign of the times.
We have 5 grandchildren Lucy (4) Henry(2) Xavier we’ll see him in heaven, God willing Philomena 1 and Elizabeth Ann 3 weeks!
I love helping and spending my time with the Good Lord and this little family he has entrusted me to.
